Concrete pool warranty, one year on finish MAYBE?

  • Below is a copy of an email sent to us by a current concrete pool owner looking for our help!

    "Good Morning Neighbors!
My name is Pam Dove and my family and I live down near the end of Pennwell. Within the past 9 months, we have put a pool in and are experiencing some discrepancies in the quality of work performed on the plaster. I know a number of you have pools or have recently put one in so my question is for you. Do you have visible spider cracking in your pool?? How old is your pool? What kind of plaster finish do you have? ( Diamond Brite, Pebbletech, colored plaster, etc.)

From the very beginning, we had spider cracking on about %90 of the pools surface that was exposed to the sun during application. We were told at the time that they would cure and not be visible. Now, 9 months later they are even more visible and I was told by the Diamond Brite representative that my water chemistry was to blame and that ALL pools are cracked. He said that TexSun and Leslie’s didn’t have experienced pool people to diagnose my pool’s chemistry. I was also told that due to the darker color plaster that the cracks are more visible. I get that, however, there shouldn’t be any cracks in the first place. Once again, the cracking is not in the shaded part of the pool and no water is leaking. It is purely cosmetic and therefore they are not motivated to fix it. What are some of your thoughts and or experiences?

Thank you again for your time on this aggravating pool problem.
    Pam"
