3M Discontinues It's Pool Plastering Line

3M Company announced that it will discontinue it's line of ColorQuartz plaster additives and exit the pool and spa plastering business at the end of December 2009. "The combination of reduced demand and cost of supporting the business has lead to the decision."

A reason for the decreased demand is that people are choosing Fiberglass Pools over more traditional gunite pools.

For a major business such as 3M to discontinue a line is big news!

Fiberglass pools never need to be refinished, unline gunite pools which have to be replastered every 5-10 years. Fiberglass will save you thousands of dollars in maintenance costs every year!
