Before the pool installation, the backyard was essentially a blank canvas, bordered by a lake and neighboring properties. One side offered a picturesque view of Longhorn cattle and pasture from the back patio. However, the yard had a gradual slope and a patio that was too high to extend, posing some challenges.

Kimri, an interior designer, envisioned a backyard that was both functional and aesthetically pleasing without using too much concrete, which she felt would look too institutional. She chose to install a putting green on the far side of the pool and a raised flower bed for excess water drainage. This creative solution not only addressed the yard’s slope but also added a cohesive and seamless look to the backyard.

Deciding on the size of the pool was another consideration. With two active boys, Trey and Kimri wanted a pool that would accommodate their energy and playfulness. They also had to account for HOA requirements, which influenced the pool’s placement. Ultimately, they chose a smaller size to position the pool closer to their home, minimizing the distance they would have to walk and reducing the amount of grass and debris that could be tracked into the water.

Kimri especially enjoys using the shallow end of the pool, where the splash pad is located. Her two French bulldogs also love to romp in this area, making it a favorite spot for both the dogs and Kimri. She appreciates that the pool is not so large that parts of it go unused. Every part of the pool is accessible and enjoyable for their family activities.
